Congratulations to our Crucial Cup Winners!
The Crucial Cup saw the “Gaming Team APG” take the honours
Crucial and Syntech have shown they mean business by hosting the first Crucial Cup event of the year by offering some serious hardware as prizes.
The first cup was purely aimed at Battlefield South Africa and was organized by Stephen “Lang-Slang” de Witt. The original expectation for the cup was that around 20 teams would enter. Saying that we were pleasantly surprised by the SA gaming community’s support would be an understatement!
The Crucial Cup saw 40 teams register and every single team involved thoroughly enjoyed their involvement in the cup. The immense growth in viewership count on the Cups official stream should be enough to tell the story behind the success of the Crucial Cup.
On a good day, the average stream in South Africa will see around 40 viewers tune in. The Crucial Cup together with the amazing casters broke SA twitch records with over 160 viewers tuning in to view the grand final!
Some fun facts regarding the cup:
- Duration: 4 weeks
- Number of teams: 40
- Number of players: 280
- Number of live viewers during the Final: 160+
- Number of channel views during the cup: 4000
Top 3 teams (in order):
1st: APG.
2nd: xTc.
3rd: bvd
With people already hyped about when the next cup will be taking place, we will be looking at hosting another / BIGGER Crucial Cup at the end of winter leg before the rAge expo, so stay tuned.
Thank you to each and every team and player that participated and thank you to our amazing shout casters that really made it such an enjoyable cup to watch.
